Massachusetts Firearms Law and Regulations Seminar presented by Attorney Tolek

This class will start with basic firearms laws with a review of what you learned in your BFS class and then go deeper into issues of licensing requirements, restrictions, and storage and transportation issues, followed by post application options and processes and what to do If you are denied your license including how to appeal.

We will also discuss how criminal records come into play, why sealed criminal records don’t matter, and how to check your own CORI.

We will discuss the Assault Weapons Ban and what that means to you as a MA resident, the National Firearms Act, and laws regarding the purchase and transfer of firearms.

NFA Trusts have been a tool for certain purchases, but learn how that is changing with new 2016 regulations. We will conclude with planning for the future with your firearms including estate planning in your will (and Trusts) and why that is important.

The class will also cover MA law regarding safe storage of a firearm in the home, self defense in the home and on the street, and the necessary steps you need to take if you’re ever involved in a lethal force confrontation with your firearm.
